Stars Place Trevor Daley on IR, Reassign Travis Morin to Texas
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has placed defenseman Trevor Daley on Injured Reserve (lower body injury) and reassigned forward Travis Morin to the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Daley, 30, has posted five points (1-4=5) in 27 games this season. He ranks second on the team in blocked shots (45) and third amongst team defensemen in total time on ice (530:30). The 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft.
Morin, 29, has appeared in three games for Dallas this season, registering two shots and a plus-1 rating. His 29 points (11-18=29) in 19 games played with Texas are currently tied for first in the AHL with teammate Colton Sceviour. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota was originally selected by Washington in the ninth round (263rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft. He was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 12, 2010.
