Texas Stars Report
The Texas Stars won both their games over the past week, running their winning streak to five games. The Stars, who have won seven of their last nine games, are 16-8-4, ranking second in the West Division and fourth in the Western Conference.

Friday, December 13: Texas 2, Chicago 1
Jack Campbell stopped 27 of 28 shots and Travis Morin and Mike Hedden scored goals as the Stars won their fourth straight game, defeating Chicago 2-1 at Cedar Park Center Friday night. Campbell, who was making his second start since returning from a knee injury, improved to 4-0-0 on the season with a 1.25 goals against average and .949 save percentage (89 saves on 94 shots).
“Against Iowa the other day (first game back), I only had two or three practices. Now I have the rhythm going again. I’m feeling good,” Campbell said. “The team is looking good, I’m feeling good, so we are just going to try to keep rolling.”
Sunday, December 15: Texas 5, San Antonio 2
Curtis McKenzie scored two goals as the Stars won their fifth straight game, beating San Antonio 5-2 at AT&T Center Sunday evening. Scott Glennie, Chris Mueller and Hedden also scored for Texas. Morin chipped in two assists. Cristopher Nilstorp got the start in goal, stopping 35 of 37 shots. Nilstorp has won his last three starts, posting a 2.29 goals against average and .935 save percentage during the stretch.

*LW Curtis McKenzie is tied for 5th among AHL rookies in both goals (10) and points (21). He’s played 27 games.
*RW Brett Ritchie is tied for 11th in rookie scoring with 18 points (4 goals, 14 assists) in 28 games.
*Texas ranks 5th in the AHL in goal scoring at 3.43 per game.
*Texas ranks 12th in goals against at 2.79.
*The Stars rank 1st in the AHL on the power play at 28.9 percent.
*The Stars rank 5th in penalty killing at 85.6 percent.
*D Patrik Nemeth missed both games last week due to injury.
Austin Smith heads to Finland
The Dallas Stars assigned RW Austin Smith to Assat of Finland’s SM-Liiga to give him a chance to get more playing time. Smith played his first game over the weekend, registering no points and five shots on goal in 18:08 of ice time. He played on Assat’s top line with former Dallas Star Niklas Hagman.
