Stars-Kings Notes
They got a scare in the first period when defenseman Brenden Dillon went down after a hit from Kings forward Dwight King.

The Dallas Stars were already without four defensemen due to injury for Monday night’s game in Los Angeles, and the last thing they needed was another injury on the blue line.

They got a scare in the first period when defenseman Brenden Dillon went down after a hit from Kings forward Dwight King.

“I wanted to cry,” Stars forward Tyler Seguin said about seeing Dillon go down.

Dillon struggled to get to the bench, headed down the tunnel but was back on the ice a few minutes later and finished the game. He played a team-high 25:32.

“We weren’t sure what it was, but it was nice to see him come back into the game,” said Stars captain Jamie Benn.

“Maybe a little bit of a charley horse, but he was able to get through it and he played well the rest of the night,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff.

Gonchar update

Stars defenseman Sergei Gonchar sat out Monday’s game due to concussion-like symptoms. He was injured in Saturday’s game in San Jose when he was hit in the head by a puck.

“He’ll be re-evaluated when he gets back,” said Ruff. “It is maybe a five to seven day window. You don’t know with concussions or symptoms. As soon as they’re gone, you start exercising and get going.”
