Whitney a Game-time Decision vs. Kings
Stars forward Ray Whitney didn’t skate this morning and will be a game-time decision for tonight’s tilt against the Los Angeles Kings at American Airlines Center.
“Not feeling well, so we’ll see what tonight brings for him,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff.
If Whitney can’t go, the Stars have Dustin Jeffrey available. Jeffrey, who has been a healthy scratch the last eight game, last played Dec. 12 at Nashville.
“I think he’s played well. Just the opportunities he’s had to produce on the offensive side he hasn’t finished and he’s had a couple good opportunities,” Ruff said. “If that opportunity presents it, he’ll play well away from the puck and when we get it on the offensive side, it’s really to try and make a difference.”
The rest of the Dallas lineup is expected to look the same as Sunday’s game against St. Louis.
Kari Lehtonen was the first goaltender off the ice this morning, so it looks as though he’ll start in goal for the Stars. It will be the sixth straight start for Lehtonen, who is 3-0-2 in his last five games with a 1.74 goals against average and .942 save percentage.
The Kings, who played last night in Chicago and lost 1-0 to the Blackhawks, did not skate this morning.
