Stars-Red Wings Notes
The banged up Dallas Stars defense suffered another blow when Aaron Rome left Saturday’s game with an upper body injury.
Rome left the game late in the first period and did not return.
"It's an upper-body injury. He'll probably be out this week,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff.
Gonchar, who missed this sixth straight game due to concussion-like symptoms, has been practicing this past week and could play when the Stars open their upcoming road trip against the New York Islanders on Monday.
“I would expect Sergei to be back on the Island,” Ruff said. “He was actually hoping maybe for tonight. My feelings were hold him out, get him real good skate today, another real good practice and he’ll be over it.”
Trevor Daley, who has been out almost a month with a high ankle sprain, skated with the team for the first time since the injury on Saturday morning. Daley, who said he is making progress every day, is hoping to play at some point on the Stars’ upcoming road trip.
“I’ll practice [Sunday] and then head on the road with the guys and see how she goes day to day,” Daley said. “Tomorrow’s practice will be good to get in some game-like drills and see how it goes from there. … It’s day to day. I hope one of those games on the trip I’ll get into one of them.
