Daley, Gonchar return

The Stars got two defensemen back Monday night with both Trevor Daley and Sergei Gonchar returning to the lineup.

Daley returned after missing 14 games with a high-ankle sprain. He played 19:35 in the game, had three shots on goal and was a plus-one.

“I felt pretty good out there,” Daley said. “I tried to keep it as simple as possible, and felt pretty good physically.”

Gonchar was back after missing six games with concussion-like symptoms. He played 18:35, had one shot on goal and was a minus-two.

“It wasn’t that bad. Obviously the timing was off,” Gonchar said. “When you miss a few games your timing is off, gap is off. Have to work on it and be better next time.”

With Gonchar and Daley returning, Cameron Gaunce was a healthy scratch on defense. Aaron Rome also sat out with an upper body injury suffered in Saturday’s game against Detroit.

Quotable: Kari Lehtonen

“I don’t think the game changed too much (from the first period to the second). They had a couple of good chances in the first and I was able to make a couple of saves. They had similar chances in the second and they went in. As a goalie, that’s how I look at it. I don’t know or care about forechecks or backchecks or things like that. I try to react on their opportunities. It’s a long game. After a really good first period for myself, things really went bad the next two. Just need to keep working and believing in this group and myself.”
