Dallas Stars Acquire a Conditional Fourth Round Selection in the 2014 NHL Draft from Anaheim in Exchange for Defenseman Stephane Robidas
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired a conditional fourth round selection in the 2014 NHL Draft from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Stephane Robidas.
Robidas, 37, has played in 24 games for Dallas this season posting five points (4-1=5). He has not appeared in a game since suffering a broken leg on Nov. 29 vs. Chicago. He ranks seventh in Dallas Stars team history with 704 games played, posting 211 points (46-165=211) during his two stints with the club (2002-04 and 2005-14). In total, he has appeared in 871 career NHL games registering 246 career points (55-191=246).
“Stephane is the consummate professional,” said Nill. “He has set a great example for our young core, not only when he was playing, but in his recovery as well. We want to wish Stephane and his family the best and thank him for all that he’s done in his time here.”
The Stars now possess nine picks in the 2014 NHL Draft, including all seven of their own selections and Calgary’s sixth round selection.
