About the Stars

The Stars (33-26-11) ended a four-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory over Ottawa Saturday at American Airlines Center. The Stars trailed 1-0 after one period, but a Cody Eakin goal in the second period tied the game and then Trevor Daley and Jamie Benn scored in the third for the Stars.

“It was a great test for our team. This is just playoff hockey now the rest of the way,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “You’re going to have to have the ability to come back. You’re going to have to have the ability to lead the game by a goal late and hold that lead. You’re going to need some big saves at crucial times.”

The win pulled the Stars to within two points of Phoenix, which currently holds the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Phoenix plays at the New York Rangers Monday. The Stars have one game in hand on the Coyotes.

Kari Lehtonen, who stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday’s win, will get the start Monday against Winnipeg.

Injuries: F Erik Cole (upper body) is day to day. F Rich Peverley (irregular heartbeat) is out.

About the Jets

The Jets (32-31-9) are coming off a 3-2 loss to Carolina in Winnipeg on Saturday. The Jets grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second period, but the Hurricanes rattled off three goals in a 2:53 span later in the second to build a 3-1 lead they never relinquished.

The Jets, who are 2-5-3 over their last 10 games, sit six points out of a playoff spot as they open a five-game road trip that will take them to Dallas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Anaheim and Phoenix.

“We have to have a good road trip," Jets center Bryan Little said. "I think that after this trip, we'll have a good idea of what is going to happen with our season."

Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, who has missed the last four games with a lower body injury, practiced Sunday, but will not play Monday. Defenseman Zach Bogosian, who left Saturday’s game, is questionable.

Injuries: D Zach Bogosian (upper body) is questionable. G Ondrej Pavelec (lower body), F Chris Thorburn (foot), C Mark Scheifele (knee), D Grant Clitsome (back) and C James Wright (ankle) are out.
