The Dallas Stars Stick with Reading program exists to encourage elementary aged students to foster a love of reading. Through our partnership with Molina Healthcare, this incentive based program inspired and motivated 900 students across many school districts to meet their reading goals.
The program ran October 1 through October 31, 2013 and participating teachers received a Dallas Stars/ Molina Healthcare Stick with Reading poster to hang in their classroom to chart their students’ progress with stars for each book read. The top reader from each participating class earned special Dallas Stars and Molina Healthcare prizes. The top two classrooms that read the most books have earned brand new books for their classroom that are generously donated by Molina Healthcare and a classroom visit from Alex Goligoski, Ryan Garbutt and Cody Eakin, Dallas Stars players and Stick with Reading spokesmen. The Dallas Stars Foundation is recognizing each participating class with tickets to a Dallas Stars game.
