Dallas Stars Sign Goaltender Philippe Desrosiers to Three-Year, Entry-level Contract
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed goaltender Philippe Desrosiers to a three-year, entry-level contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Desrosiers, 18, just concluded his third season with Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). During the 2013-14 season, he posted the fourth-lowest goals against average in the QMJHL (2.65), was tied for the sixth-highest save percentage (.907) ranked fifth in overall wins with a 31-14-7 record and was one of only six goalies in the League to post at least five shutouts (5). The native of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec also earned a 7-2-1 record with a 2.34 GAA and a .917 SV% in 11 playoff contests in 2014.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound goaltender was drafted by Dallas in the second round (54th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
