Roussel Picks Up All-Star Honors at World Championship
Stars forward Antoine Roussel had a strong showing for France at the 2014 World Championship in Belarus, and was honored for it at the tournament\u2019s conclusion on Sunday.

Stars forward Antoine Roussel had a strong showing for France at the 2014 World Championship in Belarus, and was honored for it at the tournament’s conclusion on Sunday.

Roussel was one of the three forwards named to the tournament All-Star team. Roussel led France with 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) in eight games. He tied for second in goal scoring at the tournament and tied for fifth in points.

France made the quarterfinals and finished eighth at the tournament, its best showing at the World Championship since 1995.

Russia won the gold medal with a 5-2 victory over Finland on Sunday. Sweden took the bronze medal with a 3-0 win over Czech Republic.

Russia dominated the individual awards, but Finnish goaltender Pekka Rinne was the tournament MVP. Plano native and Team USA blue liner Seth Jones was named the best defenseman and grabbed All-Star honors as well.
