Dallas Stars, Sportsradio 1310AM\/96.7FM The Ticket Announce Five-year Broadcast Rights Extension
The Dallas Stars and Sportsradio 1310AM\/96.7FM The Ticket today announced a five-year broadcast rights extension.

Dallas Stars President and CEO Jim Lites, in conjunction with the Vice President and Market Manager of Cumulus Media, Dallas/Fort Worth Dan Bennett, today announced a five-year radio broadcast rights extension between the Dallas Stars and Sportsradio 1310 AM/96.7 FM The Ticket.

For the last five seasons, The Ticket has served as the radio home for Dallas Stars hockey, broadcasting all regular season and postseason contests. Additionally, the station also broadcasts pregame, intermission and postgame programming providing Metroplex sports fans with the most complete Stars coverage on the radio.

“Our organization is thrilled to extend our relationship with The Ticket for another five years,” Lites said. “Broadcasting our games on the highest-rated sports talk station in the greater Southwest allows our dedicated fan base to continue experiencing in-depth analysis and the one-of-a-kind commentary that only The Ticket can provide.”

The Stars broadcast on The Ticket features the award-winning duo of play-by-play announcer Ralph Strangis and color analyst Daryl Reaugh. One of the top broadcast pairs in the National Hockey League, the duo of “Ralph and Razor” have broadcasted Stars games together for nearly two decades.

The duo's on-air work together has earned them multiple accolades during their tenure with the Stars, including six Lone Star Emmys, a Dallas Press Club Katie and four Associated Press awards. During the 2014-15 season, Reaugh will continue his weekly segment with The Musers at 8:55 a.m. on Friday mornings, giving his unique insight and perspective on all things Dallas Stars.

“We are honored to have the Dallas Stars as our partners for another five years, broadcasting their games on The Ticket,” Bennett said. “The Dallas Stars have a bright future with new ownership and an exciting core of young players. With a solid foundation now in place, we are excited to broadcast each step in the team’s pursuit of the Stanley Cup.”

Now entering into its 20th year in the Metroplex, The Ticket is Dallas-Ft. Worth’s first all-sports station, and the two-time winner of the NAB Marconi Award (2007, 2013), which recognizes the Best All-Sports Station in the United States. All four daily shows (The Musers, Norm Hitzges, BaD Radio, The Hardline) consistently sit at the top of the Metroplex radio ratings. In addition to generating high ratings and garnering national awards, The Ticket is very involved in the local community and has raised well in excess of one million dollars with the help of their loyal “P1” listeners for local charities including Special Olympics of North Texas, the Dallas Stars Foundation, Austin Street Center for the Homeless, the American Red Cross, Genesis Women’s Shelter, the MDA, Big Brothers and Sisters and many others.
