Mike Valley is in his first season as Director of Goaltending Development for the Dallas Stars. He spent the previous seven seasons as the club’s goaltending coach. Valley served as an assistant goaltending coach for the Nashville Predators during the 2008-09 season, and also worked as a goaltending coach for the men’s hockey team at the University of Wisconsin, his alma mater.

Valley played six years of professional hockey (1998-2004) after initially being signed as a free agent by the Vancouver Canucks following his sophomore year of college. His career includes stints in the AHL, ECHL and Swedish Elite League. In 2005, he returned to the University of Wisconsin to complete his bachelor’s degree in communication science and rhetorical studies. Valley is originally from Richmond, B.C..
