
Mark Janko begins his 13th season with the Dallas Stars organization, and fourth in Hockey Operations. He spent eight seasons in the Stars Public Relations Department, most recently as director of public relations from 2005-2008. His current job duties include assisting the Hockey Ops department in the areas of player development, cap management, contract negotiations and research, salary arbitration, strategic planning and works closely with Dallas’ scouting staff, with an emphasis on the professional level. He also serves as the team’s liaison for all player transactions with NHL’s Central Registry.
Janko, 36, served as the director of communications for FC Dallas in Major League Soccer for the 2005 MLS season. He joined the Stars in 1999 after serving in the media relations department for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 1998-99 season. A 1998 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in communications, Janko is a native of Mission Viejo, California. He and his wife, Jessica, their daughter, Reese, and their son, Carson, reside in Lewisville.
