Steve Ott is entering his eighth NHL season, all with Dallas. He has accumulated over 130 PIM in six of his eight NHL seasons and posted a career-high 183 PIM during the 2010-11 season. Ott enters the 2011-12 season eight games away from playing in his 500th NHL game. During the 2010 IIHF World Championships in Germany, Ott represented Team Canada and skated in seven games, recording one assist and 20 PIM. Ott has served as an alternate captain for the Dallas Stars on several occasions.
