"I think the biggest part is that we want to keep getting better each and every game for these exhibition games that we have," Benn said. "We definitely cleaned it up a bit this game; we played pretty well. We scored a power-play goal, probably gave up a lead that we shouldn't have, but we won in the shootout, which is the biggest thing."
The Panthers rallied in the third period on late goals 14 seconds apart by Drew Shore and Scottie Upshall. Jacob Markstrom went the distance for Florida and made 28 saves.
"We battled back and I think that's especially important this early in the year," Shore said. "It shows a lot of character in that room."
Cristopher Nilstorp stopped 12 of 14 shots for the Stars.
