CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- The Calgary Flames lost star forward Jarome Iginla to an ankle injury. Then they lost a third-period lead.

Jere Lehtinen and Jason Arnott scored late in the third period Saturday night, rallying the Dallas Stars to a 3-2 victory over the Flames.

"This does a lot for the morale of our team," said Dallas captain Mike Modano, who played for the first time since being sidelined for six games with a groin injury. "To be behind late in the game and still find a way to win, that's always been a trademark of our team for the past four, five years, find ways to win, ways to get points."

Calgary lost captain and leading scorer Iginla to a left leg injury after he got tangled up with Stars defenseman Richard Matvichuk along the boards in the second period.

The severity of Iginla's injury was not known although Flames coach and general manager Darryl Sutter remained optimistic.

"He tried in the third period, so obviously it's not too serious," Sutter said.

Lehtinen tied it 2-2 at 12:00 of the third on a neat setup from Pierre Turgeon.

Lehtinen's first shot from the high slot was stopped by Calgary goaltender Roman Turek, but Turgeon scooped up the rebound and flipped a pass back out to Lehtinen, who made good on his second chance.

The game-winner from Arnott at 14:32 came off another rebound after Turek stopped Stu Barnes' initial shot.

Turek was making his first start after missing three months with a torn ligament in his right knee.

"Roman's been out for a little while so we wanted to get some shots on him and make him play the puck," Modano said. "As the game went on, we tried to do that and create some traffic."

Brenden Morrow got the other goal for Dallas. The Stars are 5-1-2 in their last eight games away from home.

The loss dropped Calgary into seventh place in the Western Conference, one point behind Nashville.

Dallas led 1-0 after 20 minutes on Morrow's goal but lost the lead in the second on goals by Chris Clark and Martin Gelinas three minutes apart.

Calgary tied it at 12:15 with just two seconds left on a two-man advantage.

Steven Reinprecht faked going behind the net and slipped a pass to Clark, who one-timed a shot past Stars goaltender Marty Turco.

Gelinas put Calgary ahead 2-1 at 15:16 of the second when he tipped Shean Donovan's shot through the pads of Turco.

"When you got a lead, you definitely want to keep the lead and we didn't do that. We softened up in a couple of areas and it cost us a hockey game," Calgary defenseman Jordan Leopold said.

Turek, who made 23 saves, could not be faulted on the game's first goal at 18:52 of the first period.
